Position Overview: The Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute is seeking a dedicated and skilled research assistant to contribute to our dynamic tumour immunology team. This role focuses on exploring the influence of innate lymphoid cells in immune regulation concerning tissue homeostasis, inflammatory conditions, and cancer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in innovative research projects employing both in vivo and in vitro methodologies to evaluate immune cell functions across various disease models.
  • Investigate signalling pathways and downstream mechanisms through advanced techniques.
  • Collaborate with a motivated team of researchers, leveraging world-class core facilities to enhance research outcomes.

Qualifications:

Candidates should possess proficiency in the following areas:

  • Mouse experimental procedures (UK PIL preferred), tissue processing, and cell isolation/phenotyping.
  • Advanced flow cytometry techniques, including spectral flow cytometry.
  • Immunological assays, immunofluorescence microscopy, and cell culture.
  • Molecular biology methods such as cloning, viral vector design, and genome editing.

Experience or a solid understanding of tumour biology and immunology, particularly with mouse tumour models or human patient samples, is essential.

  • Ability to manage projects, develop methodologies, and conduct data collection and analysis.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Capacity to create innovative experimental strategies to address research questions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Additional Information:

This is a fixed-term position, with funding available for an initial period. Successful candidates will undergo a basic disclosure and security check upon acceptance of the offer.
