About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Laboratory Support Associate to join our team at Beautiful Recruitment. As a Laboratory Support Associate, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our client's state-of-the-art laboratories.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular lab walkthroughs to identify areas for improvement and ensure a safe and secure working environment.
  • Manage inventory in all on-site storage rooms, including lab equipment, supplies, and office materials.
  • Ensure the lab is clean and tidy, ready for scientists to conduct their research.
  • Perform general lab tasks to support daily lab functions, including lab porterage and waste management.
  • Change gas cannisters and meet with gas suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Facilitate waste management and cleaning of lab equipment.
  • Manage vendor-managed inventory and laboratory consumables stock control.
  • Operate glass wash, lab autoclave, and sterilization equipment under client processes.
  • Meet and greet external laboratory equipment engineers to ensure planned and preventative maintenance is performed.
  • Stock office supplies, including fresh fruit, tea, coffee, and other essentials for the team.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar role, such as a Laboratory Services Coordinator, Laboratory Technician, or Laboratory Assistant, in an academic, biotech, pharma, or clinical setting.
  • Experience in basic lab equipment troubleshooting and maintenance is desired, but not essential, as full training will be provided.
  • Understanding of EH&S compliance and crisis management practices, with an EH&S qualification such as NEBOSH being desirable.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor.
  • Solutions-focused mindset with strong problem-solving skills and great customer-facing skills.
