Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team at Novogene Europe. The successful candidate will be responsible for registering and processing samples, conducting experiments, and uploading results data accurately within defined time frames.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To register and process samples, conduct experiments, and upload results data accurately within defined time frames.
  • To perform various testing procedures by strictly following specific standard operation procedures.
  • Adhering to documented procedures for all aspects of laboratory work, ensuring that all relevant information concerning samples is recorded, that samples are handled correctly, and that all necessary records and quality data are maintained.
  • To conduct inventory, accessioning and tracking of sample into the lab via LIMS system.
  • To perform routine laboratory maintenance activities, including ordering & receiving supplies, maintaining consumable inventories and updating instrument usage logbooks.
  • To work on automated high-throughput liquid handling machine, looking after one production line, troubleshooting and fixing problems when occurred.
  • To conform with all site quality management systems and health and safety procedures (ISO 17025:2017, ISO 15189:2023, GCLP, Human Tissue Act (2004)).
  • Other tasks assigned by the line manager.

Requirements:

  • Able to work full-time with the flexibility to work on weekends.
  • A Bachelor's or advanced degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, biotechnology, or similar subject is required, with a minimum of one-year laboratory experience.
  • Strong teamwork ethic and the commitment to successfully deliver to tight deadlines are essential.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail are a must for both laboratory and office-based work.
  • A strong and open communication skills is essential.
  • Fluent operating Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and PowerPoints is essential.
  • Experience of using Laboratory information management systems (LIMS) is advantageous.
  • Experience in PCR, qPCR and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS)-based analysis is advantageous.
