We are seeking a skilled Chemical Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Avantor. As a key member of our Lab and Product Services department, you will play a vital role in supporting laboratory operations and ensuring the smooth running of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing glassware and plastics collection, washing, and autoclaving/sterilisation services for scientists to use within the laboratories.
  • Maintaining and coordinating laboratory consumable inventories (stock management).
  • Regularly checking chemicals and reagent expiry dates and arranging disposal of any out-of-date material.
  • Preventative maintenance, cleaning & documentation of several laboratory instruments.
  • Laboratory housekeeping, supervising, and keeping communal areas clean and tidy, waste management, and specialist equipment performance checks.

Requirements:

  • GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent) and an interest in science.
  • Full training will be given; previous experience in a pharmaceutical/food manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential.
  • Computer literate.
