The Opportunity:

Avantor is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team in Cambridge, UK. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our client's scientists by maintaining laboratory housekeeping, managing laboratory consumable inventory, and ensuring the proper handling and storage of biological and chemical waste.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of laboratory consumable inventory, identifying alternative products to roll out in the event of supply issues and daily consumable replenishment, utilizing site inventory system
  • Biological & chemical waste management
  • Receipt and unpacking of cell and biological samples deliveries, including temperature sensitive and materials with special handling/storage requirements
  • Routine decontamination of incubators, water baths, class II cabinets and other equipment on site
  • Management of pipette inventory and organisation of calibration schedules

Requirements:

  • GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent) and an interest in science
  • Full training will be given, previous experience in pharmaceutical/food manufacturing environment desirable but not essential
  • Ability to understand and follow Health & Safety instructions
  • Computer Literate
  • Process driven and high level of attention to details
