The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Scientific Laboratory Assistant to join our team based in Cambridge, UK

As a Scientific Laboratory Assistant, you will be responsible for laboratory housekeeping, indirectly supporting our client's scientists.

Previous experience in a scientific or laboratory environment is not a requirement for this role. We will consider applicants from other industries as full training is provided.

You will work alongside other Laboratory Technicians, who support laboratory operations. You will belong to our business department Lab and Production Services, which supports leading pharmaceutical companies and laboratories all over the world, in Research and Development within the Life Sciences industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance of laboratory consumable inventory, identifying alternative products to roll out in the event of supply issues and daily consumable replenishment, utilising site inventory system
  • Biological & chemical waste management
  • Receipt and unpacking of cell and biological samples deliveries, including temperature sensitive and materials with special handling/storage requirements
  • Routine decontamination of incubators, water baths, class II cabinets and other equipment on site
  • Management of pipette inventory and organisation of calibration schedules
