We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Quality Control Specialist to become a vital part of our dynamic and forward-thinking life sciences organization.
In this role, you will collaborate with a team of professionals to support drug development initiatives, ensuring the smooth operation of essential laboratory functions.
Your responsibilities will encompass the management of daily laboratory activities, including:
- Overseeing the inventory and procurement of critical laboratory materials and supplies, including conducting regular stock assessments.
- Providing local laboratory support services, which include:
- Delivery of Liquid Nitrogen
- Glassware cleaning
- Waste management
- Laboratory coat laundry services
- Coordinating pipette maintenance
- Arranging equipment servicing
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization within laboratory spaces, including tissue culture areas and storage rooms.
- Collecting and disposing of routine laboratory waste (chemicals, clinical waste, WEEE, etc.) following established protocols.
- Monitoring and documenting laboratory inventory using an electronic Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
Additionally, you will assist the Operations Manager in:
- Preparing for and supervising engineer/service visits.
- Preparing for Health & Safety audits and implementing necessary actions.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, we are looking for candidates who possess:
- A solid understanding and hands-on experience in providing laboratory services, preferably in a biological laboratory environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory health and safety protocols, along with experience in general laboratory techniques and equipment.
- A relevant degree in a biological sciences discipline is advantageous, with a minimum of A Level in Biology.
