Position Overview: The Halim laboratory at the University of Cambridge is seeking a dedicated and skilled Laboratory Research Associate to contribute to a dynamic and cooperative tumour immunology team. Our research focuses on the intricate roles of innate lymphoid cells in modulating immune responses related to tissue homeostasis, inflammatory conditions, and cancer.

Key Responsibilities: As a member of our team, you will engage in various research initiatives that employ innovative in vivo and in vitro methodologies to evaluate immune cell functionality across diverse disease models. Additionally, you will investigate signaling pathways and downstream mechanisms utilizing state-of-the-art techniques.

Essential Qualifications: Candidates should possess proficiency in the following areas:

  • Mouse experimental techniques (existing UK PIL is highly regarded)
  • Tissue processing and cell isolation
  • Advanced flow cytometry (including spectral flow cytometry)
  • Immunological assays, immunofluorescence microscopy, and cell culture
  • Molecular biology methods (e.g., cloning, viral vector design, genome editing)

Experience or a solid understanding of tumour biology and immunology, particularly with mouse tumour models or human patient samples, is highly desirable.

Skills and Attributes: Applicants must demonstrate the ability to manage projects, develop methodologies, and collect and analyze data effectively. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, along with the capacity to devise innovative experimental strategies and excel in both independent and collaborative research settings.

Employment Terms: This position is initially funded for a fixed term of six months.
