Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Research Associate to join our team at Novogene Europe. As a Laboratory Research Associate, you will be responsible for conducting laboratory tests and experiments, processing samples, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sample Processing: Register and process samples, conduct experiments, and upload results data accurately within defined time frames.
- Testing Procedures: Perform various testing procedures by strictly following specific standard operation procedures.
- Quality Control: Adhere to documented procedures for all aspects of laboratory work, ensuring that all relevant information concerning samples is recorded, that samples are handled correctly, and that all necessary records and quality data are maintained.
- Inventory Management: Conduct inventory, accessioning, and tracking of samples into the lab via LIMS system.
- Laboratory Maintenance: Perform routine laboratory maintenance activities, including ordering and receiving supplies, maintaining consumable inventories, and updating instrument usage logbooks.
- Automated Systems: Work on automated high-throughput liquid handling machine, looking after one production line, troubleshooting, and fixing problems when occurred.
- Compliance: Conform with all site quality management systems and health and safety procedures (ISO 17025:2017, ISO 15189:2023, GCLP, Human Tissue Act).
- Additional Tasks: Perform other tasks assigned by the line manager.
Requirements:
- Availability: Able to work full-time with the flexibility to work on weekends.
- Education: A Bachelor's or advanced degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, biotechnology, or similar subject is required, with a minimum of one-year laboratory experience.
- Teamwork: Strong teamwork ethic and the commitment to successfully deliver to tight deadlines are essential.
- Attention to Detail: High accuracy and attention to detail are a must for both laboratory and office-based work.
- Communication: Strong and open communication skills are essential.
- Software Proficiency: Fluent operating Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is essential.
- LIMS Experience: Experience of using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is advantageous.
- Advanced Techniques: Experience in PCR, qPCR, and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS)-based analysis is advantageous.
