Proposals Team Lead

Hybrid Working - 1 day a week in London

We are thrilled to present a remarkable opportunity to join a dynamic public sector organization as a Proposals Team Lead. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the comprehensive proposal and bidding process, starting from the initial expression of interest through to the submission of PQQs and ITTs/RFPs, followed by a seamless transition to Account Management and Operations. Your expertise will support the sales team in crafting persuasive presentations and proposals for various sales opportunities, while also curating product information from across the global business and maintaining a centralized knowledge repository of service data.

Key Responsibilities of the Proposals Team Lead:

  • Monitoring all bid/tender/contract portals for relevant opportunities
  • Distributing tasks and ongoing responsibilities among the Proposals team
  • Tracking the status of all bids/RFPs in progress and those on the horizon
  • Ensuring timely preparation and submission of Expressions of Interest, PQQs, and ITTs
  • Summarizing and identifying essential requirements to assist the broader business in evaluating opportunities and making informed Bid/No Bid decisions
  • Crafting compelling RFP responses and proposals, which includes generating new content, refining existing materials, and collaborating with subject matter experts
  • Overseeing the compilation and production process with input from relevant sales and operations personnel
  • Ensuring adherence to the company's Bid/RFP processes
  • Maintaining consistency across all bids/proposals in terms of content and presentation
  • Coordinating commercial aspects with internal stakeholders to ensure pricing is submitted correctly
  • Tracking and reporting on document progress according to established deadlines and escalating any issues to senior management
  • Collaborating directly with executive team members on related matters such as strategy and pricing
  • Providing feedback from tender/RFP outcomes to senior leadership
  • Setting individual goals aligned with broader team and company objectives
  • Managing team performance against agreed-upon targets
  • Overseeing team member attendance to ensure departmental functionality
  • Fostering relationships with other teams and promoting the profile of the proposals team to ensure ongoing knowledge sharing within the organization

Person Specification for the Proposals Team Lead:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in bid management, business development, or content management
  • Demonstrated prioritization and time-management abilities
  • Process-oriented, highly organized, with exceptional administrative skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage one's own workload
  • Flexible approach to meet demanding goals and balance short- and long-term priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience managing the end-to-end bid/RFP process from opportunity identification to submission and handover
