We seek a Physiotherapist with substantial experience in evaluating and treating stroke patients to join our collaborative multidisciplinary team. Essential qualities include a genuine passion for patient care, outstanding communication abilities, adaptability, effective time management, and strong organizational skills. Additionally, the role requires travel, making vehicle ownership a necessity.

You will benefit from ongoing support through performance reviews, supervision, team discussions, and access to internal training programs.

Main Responsibilities

To deliver a high-quality physiotherapy service to patients within the specialized area.

To function as an accountable and independent practitioner, managing your own caseload effectively.

To collaborate with Pathway and Team leaders in the planning, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of the Physiotherapy service on a daily basis.

To provide support and clinical guidance to less experienced physiotherapy staff and students.

To step in for Team leaders when necessary.

To maintain accurate records of patient interactions using both written documentation and electronic systems.

To contribute to out-of-hours services as required.

To ensure ongoing professional competency.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

To obtain informed consent from each patient prior to assessment and treatment, adhering to Trust policies.

To conduct thorough physiotherapy assessments for individual patients, including those with complex conditions, utilizing various assessment techniques.

To apply advanced clinical reasoning to establish a diagnosis and set rehabilitation goals.

To design and implement individualized physiotherapy treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.

To assess patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.

To develop comprehensive discharge plans and make informed clinical decisions regarding referrals.

Communication Skills

To effectively communicate clinical diagnoses and treatment plans to patients and their families.

To engage with patients, relatives, and colleagues professionally and timely, maximizing rehabilitation potential.

To maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation in line with professional standards.

Educational Responsibilities

To participate in personal and professional development programs and maintain a record of continuing professional development.

To engage in clinical supervision and mentorship of less experienced staff and students.

To ensure safe and competent use of physiotherapy equipment and provide training to others as needed.

Management and Professional Duties

To organize and prioritize your caseload to meet service demands.

To supervise and mentor junior staff, ensuring adherence to Trust standards.

To identify and implement service improvements in collaboration with senior staff.

To maintain high professional standards and contribute to a positive team environment.

To uphold health and safety policies and report incidents as required.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent in physiotherapy
  • Membership in the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council
  • Evidence of relevant postgraduate training
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in relevant specialisms

Experience

Essential

  • Postgraduate experience in core areas of physiotherapy
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team

Desirable

  • Experience in clinical education and supervision
  • Involvement in clinical audits or research
