Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist to join our dedicated team at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust. This role is integral to our Outpatient Therapy department, focusing on delivering high-quality care to patients with musculoskeletal conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct advanced assessments and apply clinical reasoning for patients presenting with a variety of complex musculoskeletal issues.
  • Develop and implement tailored management and treatment plans for individual patients.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure therapeutic and clinical diagnoses are documented appropriately.
  • Provide clinical leadership and support to junior staff and therapy assistants.
  • Collaborate with the MSK Team Leader in planning, coordinating, and evaluating service delivery.
  • Engage in service development initiatives, audits, and training programs.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of postgraduate experience in a relevant specialist area.
  • Proven expertise in managing patients within the musculoskeletal field.
  • Experience in clinical education and mentoring of less experienced staff.
  • Participation in audit and research activities is highly desirable.

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong ability to work autonomously and demonstrate independent clinical decision-making.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse teams and patients.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload effectively and efficiently.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience in mentoring.
