Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will collaborate with a team of mechanical and electrical engineers, engaging closely with our multidisciplinary teams. Your primary duties will include:
  • Designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems for hydropower and pumped storage projects, including turbines, pumps, generators, and control systems.
  • Providing advisory services, acting as Owner's Engineer, and engaging in client-facing concept design.
  • Conducting detailed design, troubleshooting, installation support, and due diligence.

Collaboration and Leadership

You will work alongside project managers, technical leaders, design engineers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes. Your role will also involve mentoring less experienced team members, fostering a collaborative environment.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess Chartered or Incorporated status with the IMechE, with specific experience in mechanical design related to hydro and/or pumped storage systems. Experience in other sectors, particularly within Energy and Water, is advantageous.

  • Proficiency in producing technical specifications, power and energy calculations, and project schedules.
  • Strong communication skills for delivering technical presentations and engaging in collaborative design discussions.
  • Comfortable working in a 3D environment and utilizing appropriate tools for model review.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally.
