About the Role

Stantec is seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team, working on the design and development of cutting-edge hydropower and pumped storage hydro solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and support the testing of mechanical systems for hydropower and pumped storage hydro projects.
  • Take line management responsibility for some members of the team, support business growth and strategy development, and take ownership of project deliverables.
  • Work closely with project managers, technical leaders, design engineers, clients, supply chain partners, contractors, planners, and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for the projects and community.
  • Lead the team, acting as a mentor or guide to less experienced members, and help drive business growth and strategy development.
Requirements
  • Experience in producing technical specifications, power and energy calculations, schedules, reports, and familiar with collaborative reviews and designs of solutions.
  • Strong communication skills to give technical presentations to clients and other design engineers, as well as inputting into collaborative design discussions, including technical workshops.
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout the UK and internationally.
