Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will collaborate with a team of mechanical and electrical engineers, working closely with various multidisciplinary teams. Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems for hydropower and pumped storage hydro projects, which may encompass turbines, pumps, generators, and control systems.
  • Engaging in various project roles, including advisory services, client-facing concept design, contractor-focused detailed design, troubleshooting, and installation support.
  • Coordinating with project managers, technical leaders, design engineers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to junior team members.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Chartered or Incorporated status with the IMechE is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in mechanical design specific to hydro and/or pumped storage systems.
  • Proficiency in producing technical specifications, energy calculations, and comprehensive reports.
  • Strong communication skills for effective technical presentations and collaborative design discussions.
  • Comfort in utilizing 3D modeling tools and working within a common data environment.
  • A willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
