About the Role...

At EDF, we are pioneering the construction of two advanced nuclear reactors, representing a new era of nuclear energy in the UK, which will provide sustainable electricity to approximately six million households.

As a pivotal member of the CommOps organization, the Capability Lead will oversee the provision of around 650 skilled and trained commissioning personnel, ensuring that pre-operations and future operational phases are adequately supported in fulfilling their resource requirements. Your role will involve executing capability initiatives while guaranteeing that all resources are delivered punctually, within financial constraints, and in accordance with the relevant NNB HPC protocols and procedures.

Key Responsibilities...

  • Collaborate with Organizational Capability and HR to contribute to the formulation of the CommOps resourcing strategy and related plans aligned with the overarching Programme Business Execution Plan (BEP), detailing the management, organization, and execution of resource delivery.
  • Maintain and update the resourcing component of the Medium-Term Plan (MTP), ensuring that all CommOps resource requirements are identified and scheduled.
  • Define the scope of work to be accomplished and the procedures necessary to successfully meet CommOps resource demands.
  • Drive the execution of the CommOps resourcing strategy, MTP, and associated tasks to ensure timely, budget-compliant, and safe delivery that meets business objectives.
  • Assist in the development of the CommOps resource plan, ensuring alignment with the MTP and Nuclear Baseline.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to aid in the development of various resource pipelines from EDF UK Commissioning, Existing Generation (from HR), Shareholder Partners, and Alliance Partners.
  • Actively support the achievement of EDF's and HPC's Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) goals, fostering an inclusive environment.
  • Assist HR in creating development and succession plans for CommOps, ensuring that career progression opportunities are considered for all personnel.
  • Manage the interfaces relevant to delivery, including but not limited to, those with Alliance Partners (AP), Related Party Companies (RPC), HR, HPC Resourcing Hub, and the Security Vetting Team.
  • Facilitate the transition of EDF station personnel and Pre-operations as a pipeline to commissioning, supporting the movement of personnel from CommOps into the Future Operations organization.
  • Address and resolve issues related to the execution of the resourcing strategy, plans, and MTP.
  • Implement ongoing enhancements to the resourcing strategy, plans, and related processes, ensuring the most efficient methods for recruitment, onboarding, and training are utilized.
  • Adhere to applicable safety, environmental, and quality standards, company policies, and relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.

Who You Are...

Your qualifications may include:

  • A degree in Human Resource Management or a related discipline, with 2-5 years of experience in a comparable role.
  • Experience in delivering resourcing programs within dynamic and challenging environments, particularly on large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in activities related to resource identification (pipelining) to ensure resource assurance.
  • Expertise in developing processes and procedures necessary for managing and controlling work scope delivery safely and to the required quality standards.
  • Knowledge in crafting delivery schedules and associated plans.
  • Commercial awareness with experience in budget monitoring.
  • Understanding of quality requirements and their relevance to the delivery of competent and experienced resources.
  • Experience managing contractors, consultants, and other advisors in the execution of complex projects.
  • Strong presentation, influencing, and facilitation skills.
