Position Overview:
Quality Assurance Manager
Location: Bridgwater
Schedule: Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to join our Bridgwater Dairy on a permanent basis.

The ideal candidate will oversee the quality management system to ensure the delivery of superior products while continuously striving for improvement in alignment with Mller's core values. This role will facilitate Operational Excellence through adherence to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a team of 10 direct reports.
  • Provide expertise in Quality Management Systems.
  • Exhibit a proactive approach to enhancing quality-related performance.
  • Engage actively in problem-solving initiatives.
  • Contribute to building QMS capabilities across the site.
  • Manage laboratory operations and other QMS responsibilities.
  • Support and confirm quality control responsibilities in operations.
  • Demonstrate strong IT skills and capabilities.
  • Govern and maintain the Quality Index and other monthly reporting.
  • Oversee internal and external audit processes.
  • Foster positive and collaborative relationships with suppliers and customers.
  • Encourage the identification of waste reduction opportunities in all operations.
  • Seek out and implement improvement opportunities within the workplace, leading to personal Continuous Improvement (CI) projects.
  • Own and deliver CI initiatives, gaining recognition for contributions.
  • Utilize available resources to empower others in enhancing operational processes.
  • Collaborate with other teams to drive business improvements.
  • Support team members in demonstrating CI contributions through the Performance Development Process (PDP).

Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Previous experience in roles such as Technical Coordinator, Quality Assurance Manager, or Laboratory Manager.
  • Strong influencing and communication skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with A3 problem-solving techniques.
  • Knowledge of retailer codes of practice.
  • Experience with BRC audits.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel.

Additional Qualifications:
  • HACCP certification.
  • Advanced food hygiene knowledge.
  • Microbiology expertise.
  • Dairy industry experience is highly desirable.
