Interim Health, Safety, and Environment Operations Manager, 6-month contract - INSIDE IR35, £600 - £700 per day *depending on experience.
Executive Network Group is proud to represent a key site for a renowned beverage production organization, currently in search of a seasoned Interim Health, Safety, and Environment Operations Manager.
We are looking for a pragmatic, passionate, and approachable HSE Manager who possesses strong leadership qualities. This individual will effectively guide and mentor the site team, initiate performance enhancements, establish a robust HSE team, and embark on a transformative cultural journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the site towards a more proactive approach to Health, Safety, and Environment management, providing hands-on support, solutions, and guidance.
- Collaborate closely with the site General Manager and Head of HSE to foster change and ensure alignment across departments towards a unified vision.
- Cultivate and promote a positive culture where accountability for HSE is shared by all.
- Serve as the primary representative for HSE on-site, working to build a competent HS&E team.
- Develop, coach, and mentor the workforce to enhance understanding, competence, and compliance with HSE standards.
- Oversee the management of HSE training programs, offering educational resources for all personnel regarding key HSE tasks.
- Manage HSE audit schedules, address non-conformances, and oversee employee liability claims and PPE requirements.
- Hold full accountability for the Plant Waste Strategy, aiming for a 'zero to landfill' initiative.
- Liaise effectively with relevant stakeholders, including sites within the broader group, insurers, and external regulatory bodies.
- Ensure that all accidents, incidents, and near misses are reported and investigated appropriately, while promoting continuous improvement in safety targets.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Background in manufacturing, preferably within food, beverage, packaging, or distillery sectors.
- Commercially astute, capable of balancing production demands with HSE priorities, ensuring that Health and Safety remains paramount.
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification.
