About the SEN Teaching Assistant Role:

The SEN Teaching Assistant will be a key member of the SEN Department, working closely with teachers and other support staff to provide high-quality support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN, including those with physical, emotional, and learning disabilities.
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, including adapting materials to meet the needs of students with SEN.
  • Support students with personal care needs, including toileting, feeding, and mobility.
  • Monitor and record student progress, including tracking student behavior and academic achievement.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEN, preferably in a SEMH school setting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality support to students with SEN.
