We are excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated individual to join our dynamic Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) team within the acute service. As a Communication and Therapy Support Assistant, you will engage in a diverse range of responsibilities that include assisting the SLT team with both administrative and clinical tasks. Your role will involve gathering essential patient information, collaborating with community services, and implementing therapy programs and assessments as directed by the SLT team.

You will be part of a supportive team that includes other SLT assistants and a skilled SLT team, all committed to providing exceptional care to our patients.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient assessments in collaboration with qualified speech and language therapists.
  • Independently perform specific therapeutic tasks for individuals or groups as part of treatment plans.
  • Communicate effectively with the SLT team and other healthcare professionals regarding patient progress and relevant updates.
  • Prepare therapy materials and communication aids under the guidance of speech and language therapists.
  • Ensure that patient interactions are handled with sensitivity and professionalism.
  • Evaluate treatment outcomes and provide feedback to the qualified therapy team.
  • Understand various communication disorders and support patients in their recovery journey.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Minimum GCSE level education.
  • Proficient spoken and written English skills.

Previous Experience

  • Basic understanding of the Speech and Language Therapy role.
