Job Summary

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Pharmacy Dispensary and Patient Services team as a Lead Senior Assistant Technical Officer. This role will involve supporting and maintaining the dispensary and patient services function on a day-to-day basis, providing supervisory support to the team, and ensuring the smooth operation of the department.

Main Responsibilities

  • Accurate and timely dispensing of medications
  • Accurate checking of stock and dispensed medications
  • Maintaining and supporting the flow in Dispensary and Patient Services to safely accommodate workload, managing weekly and daily rotas
  • Line managing Assistant Technical Officers and, where appropriate, Trainees

The successful candidate will have a strong background in pharmacy services, with experience of working in a NHS community or hospital dispensary.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2/BTEC in pharmacy services or equivalent nationally recognized qualification
  • Demonstrable leadership skills
  • Experience of working in a NHS community or hospital dispensary
