Position Overview

We are pleased to announce a vacancy within the Surgical Operational Team for a Surgical Administrative Coordinator. This role is ideal for a motivated, innovative individual with proven administrative skills, dedicated to supporting the Surgery Care group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently manage and respond to all incoming telephone communications directed to the operational management office.
  • Accurately relay telephone messages to the relevant operational manager.
  • Ensure precise entry, updates, and modifications of patient-related data within the electronic patient administration system.
  • Execute directives from Surgical Operational Managers concerning surgical patient flow, transfer to another area, and discharge processes.
  • Collaborate with consultant medical personnel and their teams as required.
  • Adhere to all Trust and Local policies and procedures, particularly regarding confidentiality and the secure handling of sensitive information.
  • Maintain professionalism and a positive demeanor when managing confidential or sensitive data.

Job Requirements

  • Respond promptly and courteously to all telephone inquiries received in the operational management office.
  • Accurately communicate messages to the appropriate operational manager.
  • Maintain the integrity of patient information by ensuring accurate data entry and updates in the electronic patient administration system.
  • Follow through on instructions from Surgical Operational Managers regarding patient flow and discharge processes.
  • Engage with consultant medical staff and their teams as necessary.
  • Comply with all Trust and Local policies, particularly those related to confidentiality and data security.
  • Handle confidential information with professionalism and care.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in an administrative or clerical role within a clinical environment.

  • Familiarity with patient management systems.
