Finance Administrator Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Finance Administrator to join our team at Bagnall Hopkins Recruitment. As a key member of our accounts team, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day support to the company, including reconciliations, invoicing, and credit control.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage the purchase ledger, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
  2. Reconcile invoices and seek approval for payment, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  3. Process the weekly payment run to contractors, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
  4. Generate and send remittances to customers, maintaining a professional and courteous tone.
  5. Provide assistance in the day-to-day bookkeeping, including updating transactions on SAGE and scheme spreadsheets.
  6. Process invoices and request payments from customers, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  7. Responsible for credit control and handling debt recovery, working closely with the accounts team to resolve any issues.
  8. Generate and send monthly CIS statements to all contractors, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  9. Support subcontractors regarding CIS, payments, and DRC, providing clear and concise information.
  10. Perform bank, nominal, and account reconciliations on a monthly basis, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  11. Process month-end Bacs and staff expenses, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  12. Reconcile petty cash, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  13. Provide support to the accounts and contracts team with reporting and invoice queries, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  14. Liaise with councils to answer queries on invoices and credit control, providing clear and concise information.
  15. Answer the finance phone line to both internal and external queries, maintaining a professional and courteous tone.

We offer a competitive salary of up to £23,000 per annum, 23 days holiday, and excellent opportunities for progression and development. AAT study support is available if required. Car ownership is preferable.

Requirements:
  1. Accuracy and attention to detail.
  2. Experience using Excel.
  3. Numeracy.
  4. Good communication and teamwork skills.
  5. Proven work experience as a Finance Administrator, Finance Assistant, or similar role.
  6. Ability to adapt and prioritize workloads.
