Key Responsibilities
The Retail and Fraud Strategy Lead will spearhead the development and execution of strategies related to rail ticket fulfillment, channel optimization, and retail fraud prevention, aligning these efforts with Transport for Wales' goal of becoming a fully multimodal organization.
- Enhance and refine the ticket fulfillment, channel optimization, and retail fraud strategies in collaboration with the Head of Retail and Head of Commercial Strategy, ensuring alignment with revenue and cost objectives while improving customer satisfaction in ticket purchasing.
- Contribute to the achievement of Transport for Wales' multimodal objectives by formulating strategies for ticket fulfillment, channel optimization, and fraud reduction, promoting a cohesive approach to ticketing and fraud mitigation.
- Stay informed about retail and ticketing developments across the rail and public transport sectors, including changes in retail channels, fulfillment methods, and fraud prevention strategies, by participating in industry meetings. Ensure that the implications for Transport for Wales operations are recognized, risks are managed, and opportunities are pursued.
- Identify opportunities for modernizing existing systems and processes by collaborating closely with the Head of Retail, Retail Systems Manager, and Retail Projects Manager to drive revenue growth and/or reduce costs.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in strategically planning, implementing, and managing change initiatives related to ticketing and/or fraud management, demonstrating improvements in business processes and financial outcomes.
- Skilled in developing processes, reporting, and presenting ticketing and/or fraud management data to senior management.
- Experience in collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to drive change.
- Proven ability to manage a multidisciplinary team effectively.
Welsh Language Skills
Proficiency in speaking and writing Welsh would be advantageous, though it is not a requirement for this position. Transport for Wales actively supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language among employees, encouraging them to enhance their Welsh language skills.
