Key Responsibilities

The Senior Project Manager is tasked with overseeing multiple IT and Digital Services projects aimed at enhancing the operational efficiency of Transport for Wales and improving the public transport user experience in alignment with Welsh Government transport policies and strategies.

  • Hold a degree in IT or possess equivalent professional experience.
  • Have a recognized project management certification such as APM, PRINCE2, or similar.
  • Proven track record of leading various complex IT and Digital Services projects related to transport/rail as the project lead.
  • Demonstrated experience in budget management, including forecasting and monitoring expenditures.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Experience in delivering rail-based projects.
  • Background in digital service delivery within advisory or design contexts.
  • Familiarity with public sector operations and collaboration with government officials.
  • Proficiency in the Welsh language is advantageous but not mandatory for this role.

Welsh Language Proficiency

While the ability to communicate in Welsh is a valuable asset for this position, it is not a requirement. Transport for Wales actively promotes the use of the Welsh Language among its employees and encourages the development of Welsh language skills.
