Key Responsibilities

The Senior Supply Chain Manager will spearhead the supply chain vision, providing guidance and support on strategies and initiatives that enhance the value of Transport for Wales' supply chain relationships and contracts.

  • Shape and lead the Supply Chain Management (SCM) strategy, translating it into actionable deliverables aligned with Transport for Wales' strategic priorities through the execution of supply chain initiatives that foster high performance and continuous improvement within the SCM team and the organization.
  • Oversee the supply chain management team to identify and implement enhancements and efficiencies, staying informed about industry best practices and regulations to ensure a top-tier and compliant supply chain management function.
  • Develop and implement strategies that maximize value from supply chain relationships and contracts, achieving savings and benefits that align with Transport for Wales' strategic objectives.
  • Guide the team in establishing sustainable procurement governance, incorporating economic and social value metrics by collaborating with key stakeholders across the organization and external networks to implement a digital framework.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) at level 5 or higher, or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience in a complex supply chain environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a diverse supply chain that meets varying capability and capacity demands.
  • Experience in identifying and managing risks within the supply chain.

Welsh Language Skills

Proficiency in speaking and writing Welsh would be a valuable asset, though it is not a requirement for this position.
