About the Role

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior Finance Business Partner to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clients in the engineering and construction industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Examine commercial project data to ensure accounting integrity and provide financial analysis to stakeholders.
  • Contract Management: Collaborate with Regional Commercial Directors to manage risk and assist with bid and tender processes.
  • Internal Controls and Processes: Manage internal controls, processes, and procedures while working with financial and commercial departments.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the organization's subject matter expert in contract accounting and contribute to system development.
  • Analysis and Support: Assist with analysis related to M&A activities and lead the completion of the yearly insurance questionnaire.
  • Management Information and Performance: Implement and provide enhanced management information, performance, and support for company objectives.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting: Generate management account data to assist with forecasting and budgeting.
  • Contract Working Capital Reporting: Ensure the accuracy of contract working capital reporting, including projecting weekly contract receipts and aging debtors.
  • Supplier Payments: Ensure timely payments to suppliers and raise cash balances on contracts with commercial teams as needed.
  • Development and Additional Tasks: Oversee ongoing development and perform additional tasks as required.
Requirements
  • Proven Experience: Proven experience in a senior financial role, preferably within the engineering or construction industry.
  • Accounting Qualifications: Relevant accounting qualifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) are highly desirable.
  • Analytical and Leadership Skills: Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Communication Skills: The ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
