Key Responsibilities

The Regulatory Compliance Lead will spearhead the formulation, execution, and oversight of compliance protocols within the asset management and standards framework.

  • Design, implement, and manage a comprehensive 'compliance control framework' that aligns with key performance indicators and contractual obligations, ensuring independent oversight of the Rail Infrastructure Maintenance Contract.
  • Oversee the application of the 'compliance control framework' by collaborating with relevant stakeholders to prevent and address breaches of contract performance standards and internal policies.
  • Ensure the quality assurance of internal processes and plans by conducting risk assessments and generating reports related to Asset Management Activities, providing an internal quality and risk protocol to uphold obligations under the Infrastructure Agreement.
  • Draft, revise, and implement governance framework processes pertinent to Asset Management service delivery and performance, including contingency plans as necessary, by identifying internal requirements and collaborating with stakeholders to produce essential documentation for effective quality assurance management.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • A degree in law, finance, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in auditing and/or compliance roles within the rail sector or similar industries.
  • Strong understanding of managing safety-critical infrastructure in a regulated, asset-rich environment.
  • Experience applying 'risk-based methodologies' or similar programs in asset-rich business settings to enhance safety and operational efficiency.

Welsh Language Proficiency

Proficiency in Welsh, both spoken and written, would be a valuable asset to your application, though it is not a requirement for this position.

Transport for Wales actively promotes the use of the Welsh Language among its employees and encourages the development and enhancement of Welsh language skills. We fully support individuals seeking to improve their Welsh language capabilities, offering various personal development opportunities, including online learning, classroom training, and funding for local community courses.
