About the Role

Transport for Wales is seeking a highly skilled Digital Solutions Architect to join our team. As a key member of our digital transformation team, you will be responsible for defining and governing the technical architecture that supports our cross-platform digital estate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the architecture design of our new and existing digital platforms, ensuring consistent delivery across web, mobile, and physical systems.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand business plans and strategies, ensuring our digital solutions landscape enables improvements in business performance and delivers customer satisfaction.
  • Assess and review existing solutions against our defined principles and design patterns, ensuring they are fit for purpose and meet our strategic goals.
  • Attend technology networking events to stay up-to-date with future trends, external innovation, and opportunities for the digital solutions landscape.

Requirements

  • Significant commercial experience in designing high-performing and scalable digital architecture designs and patterns.
  • Demonstratable experience with digital transformation projects, involving modernizing legacy systems and delivering complex, nuanced API integrations.
  • Good understanding of security principles and policies, ensuring they are applied to the design of solutions.
  • Experience of working across multiple concurrent projects, identifying and delivering operational efficiencies, and prioritizing improvements based on business benefit.
  • Understanding of architecture modeling tools and frameworks, such as TOGAF and UML.
  • Effective working with 3rd party suppliers to guide and govern solutions delivered by external teams.

Welsh Language Skills

While not essential, the ability to speak/write Welsh would be a great asset to your application. Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language and encourages employees to develop and improve their skills.
