Job Description:

Transport for Wales is seeking a skilled Solution Architect to join our team and lead the design of our digital estate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and govern the technical architecture that supports our cross-platform digital estate.
  • Oversee the architecture design of our new and existing digital platforms.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand business plans and strategies.
  • Assess and review existing solutions against our defined principles and design patterns.
  • Attend technology networking events to stay up-to-date with future trends and external innovation.

Requirements:

  • Significant commercial experience in designing high-performing and scalable digital architecture designs.
  • Demonstratable experience with digital transformation projects involving modernising legacy systems and delivering complex API integrations.
  • Good understanding of security principles and policies.
  • Experience of working across multiple concurrent projects to identify and deliver operational efficiencies.
  • Understanding of architecture modelling tools and frameworks, including TOGAF and UML.
  • Effective working with 3rd party suppliers to guide and govern solutions.

Language Skills:

The ability to speak/write Welsh is not essential for this role, but we support and promote the use of the Welsh Language by employees.
