About the Role

Transport for Wales is seeking a highly skilled Digital Architecture Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our digital transformation team, you will be responsible for designing and governing the technical architecture that supports our cross-platform digital estate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the architecture design of our new and existing digital platforms, ensuring consistent delivery across web, mobile, and physical systems.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand business plans and strategies, ensuring our architecture enables improvements in business performance and delivers customer satisfaction.
  • Assess and review existing solutions against our defined principles and design patterns, ensuring they are fit for purpose and meet our strategic goals.
  • Attend technology networking events to stay up-to-date with future trends, external innovation, and opportunities for the digital solutions landscape.

Requirements

  • Significant commercial experience in designing high-performing and scalable digital architecture designs and patterns.
  • Demonstratable experience with digital transformation projects, involving modernising legacy systems and delivering complex API integrations.
  • Good understanding of security principles and policies, ensuring they are applied to the design of solutions.
  • Experience of working across multiple concurrent projects, identifying and delivering operational efficiencies, and prioritising improvements based on business benefit.
  • Understanding of architecture modelling tools and frameworks, such as TOGAF and UML.
  • Effective working with 3rd party suppliers to guide and govern solutions delivered by external teams.

Welsh Language Skills

The ability to speak/write Welsh would be a great asset, but it is not essential for this role. Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language and encourages employees to develop and improve their Welsh Language skills.
