Role Overview:

The Asset Management Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the growth objectives of Manchester Airport by ensuring the optimal maintenance of our asset portfolio to maximize operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating the overall operability and condition of assets to formulate a comprehensive asset renewal strategy for short, medium, and long-term planning.
  • Standardizing and prioritizing asset renewals to enhance long-term operational efficiency and provide assurance for future investment through asset deterioration analysis and life-cycle costing methodologies.
  • Defining asset criticality and developing performance and condition models to inform future investment decisions.

Areas of Focus:

We are seeking Asset Management Specialists in the following domains:

  • Contract & Asset Oversight: Leading a team responsible for managing numerous specialized engineering support contracts, ensuring compliance with service level agreements and key performance indicators.
  • Baggage Systems: Overseeing the asset renewal processes for baggage handling systems to ensure maximum availability and efficiency, while continuously analyzing system performance against forecast demand.
  • Security & Screening Systems: Managing the asset renewal strategies for security and screening systems to maintain optimal operational performance and efficiency.
  • Utility Networks: Directing the asset renewal processes for utility networks, ensuring safety and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Civil Engineering Assets: Leading the asset renewal initiatives for civil engineering assets across various locations, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to identify and prioritize capital investment needs in alignment with strategic objectives. They will be adept at assessing asset performance and the implications of maintenance strategies, capable of making informed decisions even in the face of incomplete data. Additionally, they will demonstrate strong leadership skills in managing and developing a team.
