Role Overview:

The Asset Management Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the growth objectives of Manchester Airport by ensuring the optimal maintenance of our asset portfolio. A primary responsibility includes evaluating the overall operability and condition of assets, as well as formulating a comprehensive asset renewal strategy for the short, medium, and long term. This role will prioritize and standardize asset renewals to enhance long-term operational efficiency and provide assurance for future investment planning through asset deterioration analysis and whole life costing methodologies.

Additionally, the Asset Management Specialist will define asset criticality and assist in developing performance and condition models that will inform future investment decisions.

Candidate Profile:

Ideal candidates will possess substantial experience in an Engineering Operations or Asset Management context, demonstrating the ability to analyze complex data to support business cases for capital investment. Commercial acumen is also essential.

Security & Screening Responsibilities:

This role involves leading the asset renewal processes for site-wide security and screening systems to ensure maximum system availability and efficiency. Responsibilities include assessing systems for condition and obsolescence to guide appropriate capital investment, as well as continuously analyzing forecast security and screening demand against system capacity to support necessary enhancements.

Key Success Factors:

The successful candidate will be adept at identifying, prioritizing, and advocating for capital investment needs aligned with a broader strategic vision. They will be capable of evaluating asset performance and the implications of maintenance plans, and when necessary, revising these plans to maximize asset availability. The ability to make informed decisions in scenarios with incomplete data sets and to lead the development of a reporting team will be essential.
