Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled IT Asset Management Specialist to manage our IT asset portfolio, including software and hardware. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a detailed inventory of our assets, using this information to guide IT-related purchases and redistribution decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a detailed inventory of IT assets, including software and hardware.
- Use asset management tools to manage, monitor, and report on IT assets and inventory.
- Maintain comprehensive records of software licenses, service agreements, and warranties.
- Ensure compliance with vendor contracts through effective planning, monitoring, and management of hardware assets and software licenses.
- Define and enhance methods for identifying hardware and software assets, including versioning and dependencies within asset management tools.
- Apply a continuous improvement approach to managing the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) throughout its lifecycle.
- Design, implement, and enhance processes related to software and hardware asset management.
- Establish and maintain thorough documentation for procedures, processes, and asset and configuration management reports.
- Create and execute governance functions for strategic asset management.
- Work closely with infrastructure teams to analyze trends in asset performance and incorporate industry best practices into organizational processes.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive database for hardware and software maintenance.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of IT software and hardware.
- Experience working as an IT Asset Manager level in the past.
- Extensive experience (5+ years) working with a CMDB and the specific business services it supports.
- ITSM Tools: Over five years of experience using IT Service Management (ITSM) tools to manage IT assets.
- Proven ability to successfully execute strategic asset management processes.
- IT Service Management: Strong understanding of IT Service Management processes, with hands-on experience using Discovery tools.
