As a Children's Residential Care Manager in our 4-bed Ofsted rated GOOD facility, your responsibilities will include:
• Crafting Individualized Care Plans : Ensure each young person has a personalized plan addressing their care, educational, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic, and health requirements.
• Building a Strong Team : Collaborate with recruitment teams to attract the right talent for your facility. Oversee company orientation and personal development plans to maintain a consistent team for the young individuals.
• Encouraging Feedback : Establish systems to engage young people in discussions about their care.
• Assigning Key Workers : Designate a Key Worker for each young person to implement their care plan.
• Upholding High Standards : Set and monitor exceptional care standards in accordance with National Minimum Standards and the facility's Statement of Purpose.
• Addressing Concerns : Take charge of resolving any complaints or safeguarding issues.
• Collaborating with Stakeholders : Partner with parents, guardians, and other professionals to enhance the welfare of young individuals.
• Participating in Meetings : Attend and contribute to care planning and review meetings as necessary.
• Promoting a Safe Environment : Ensure the children in your care receive the highest standard of support.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
• Relevant Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a role related to residential care for children, including at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity within the last 5 years.
• Qualifications: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or a commitment to obtain within 6 months of employment.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with The Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory requirements.
• Skills: Proficient in planning, organizing, budget management, resource allocation, and team leadership.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding Trauma: Awareness of the needs of children with behavioral, emotional, and social challenges, including managing difficult behaviors.
• Driving License: Full UK driving license required.
