Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our Administration Department as a Patient Services Coordinator. This role is ideal for those who excel in a fast-paced and dynamic setting, providing essential support to our multi-disciplinary team.
The successful candidate will deliver a comprehensive administrative service focused on patient care, ensuring smooth operations within the Patient Access team.
As a collaborative team member, the candidate must exhibit strong communication skills, demonstrate organizational abilities, and maintain flexibility while showing empathy and concern for patients.
Key Responsibilities
The role involves working in one of the following areas, with the possibility of providing cross-cover as needed:
- Clinical Offices
- Emergency Department
- Main Reception
- Central Outpatient Booking Team
- Clinical Imaging
- Inpatient Wards
- Endoscopy Unit
Primary Duties
- Collaborate with various departments and teams regarding patient care pathways and service delivery.
- Communicate with consultants and administrative staff concerning patient appointments, referral letters, discharge summaries, and health records.
- Ensure that all correspondence processed by the transcription service is accurately matched with the appropriate patient and clinician, making necessary amendments and ensuring proper filing in medical records.
- Schedule outpatient appointments efficiently.
- Execute any administrative tasks required for the specific area of work.
- Handle telephone inquiries and messages with professionalism, utilizing initiative and prioritization skills when relaying information.
Candidate Profile
Education and Qualifications
Essential
- GCSE in English and Mathematics or equivalent qualifications.
Desirable
- NVQ Level 2 in Office Administration or equivalent experience.
Experience

- Proven experience in an administrative role.
- Experience managing complex telephone communications.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience working collaboratively within a team.
Skills and Knowledge
