Role Overview

As a Volunteer Coordination Manager within our Domestic Abuse Support service, you will be an integral part of our Volunteering Team. Your efforts will have a direct effect on the lives of those we serve, helping them navigate their journey towards empowerment and independence.

Each day will present unique challenges and responsibilities, including:

  • Overseeing the management of volunteer coordinators dedicated to our domestic abuse services.
  • Coordinating the recruitment and support of volunteers in alignment with Hestia's strategic goals.
  • Compiling and presenting reports on the effectiveness and achievements of our volunteering initiatives to stakeholders.
  • Organizing celebratory events and forums for women involved in our Domestic Abuse services, in collaboration with partners and stakeholders.
  • Assisting in the triannual renewal of our Investors in Volunteering accreditation alongside the Head of Volunteering.
  • Ensuring that our recruitment and retention practices align with the standards of the Investors in Volunteering Accreditation Programme.
  • Motivating operational teams to creatively integrate volunteers into their services.
  • Encouraging service users to engage in volunteering opportunities.
  • Building partnerships with external organizations and businesses to create opportunities for women and children in our Domestic Abuse services.
  • Gathering feedback from volunteers to assess their experiences through satisfaction surveys.
  • Promoting Hestia and our volunteering initiatives within the broader community.
  • Maintaining accurate administrative records in accordance with Hestia's reporting requirements.
  • Staying informed about new legislation affecting volunteering.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by the Volunteer Manager.
  • Supporting the implementation of new volunteer data management systems.

  • Awareness of cultural, social, and health issues relevant to our service users.
  • Ability to foster relationships with various external partners.
  • Understanding of safeguarding issues and the ability to address them appropriately.
