Position Overview

As a Compensation Analyst, you will serve as the primary resource for all employee remuneration inquiries. Utilizing a case management system, you will adeptly investigate, resolve, or escalate issues promptly. Your meticulous attention to detail will be crucial as you prepare, upload, and verify payroll data within our systems. You will generate essential reports, adhere to strict deadlines, and maintain thorough documentation for compliance audits.

Teamwork is vital in this role, as you will actively address inquiries from internal partners while confirming manual calculations and initiating payment requests.
In this capacity, your precision and dedication to confidentiality are paramount for protecting sensitive information and ensuring employees receive their compensation accurately and punctually.

The payroll division manages compensation for approximately 3,500 employees across various employment types, including salaried, hourly, and casual contract workers.

Candidate Profile

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience managing comprehensive payroll processes in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to thrive in both independent and team settings.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • CIPP qualification or progress towards it is preferred.
  • Experience with large payroll systems or software is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with case management systems is a plus.
  • Experience in a payroll bureau handling multiple PAYE entities simultaneously.

Role Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee remuneration inquiries, addressing, resolving, or escalating issues as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the payroll team to ensure timely and accurate employee compensation.
  • Gather payroll change information, complete input documentation, and ensure peer reviews are conducted.
  • Adhere to payroll controls, including data verification prior to processing.
  • Communicate effectively with management and internal stakeholders, providing clear summaries and solutions to key issues.
  • Maintain professional correspondence with external payroll processors and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data uploads to the payroll system.
  • Uphold confidentiality and protect sensitive information appropriately.
  • Ensure proper storage of data for audit purposes.
  • Assist the Payroll Manager with regular audits and data collection for compliance checks.
  • Stay informed about payroll legislation and internal policies.
  • Report discrepancies to the Payroll Manager and rectify them promptly.
  • Verify manual payroll calculations and process ad-hoc payments as needed.
  • Generate and distribute payroll reports to relevant parties.
  • Support the payroll team with external requests, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Payroll Manager.
