About the Role

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Mental Health Practitioner and Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our CAMHS Getting Help and Mental Health Support Teams, you will play a vital role in providing assessments, formulation, and short-term therapeutic interventions to young people across East Berkshire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Assessments and Formulation: Conduct comprehensive assessments and formulate treatment plans for young people up to the age of 18 years, presenting with mild to moderate mental health problems.
  • Therapeutic Interventions: Provide short-term, evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual, group, and family therapy, as appropriate.
  • Training and Consultation: Offer training and consultation to external agencies on the mental health presentation of children and young people accessing our services.
  • Liaison and Joint Working: Ensure effective liaison and joint working between our teams and the locality Early Help Hub and specialist CAMHS services.
  • Outcome Measures: Use routine outcome measures to promote active participation from young people and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Supervision: Provide supervision to clinical staff, as appropriate to role.

Requirements
  • Qualifications and Experience: You will need to have an appropriate qualification, such as a Doctoral level training and relevant UK Professional Registration, and experience of working with young people with mental health difficulties.
  • Knowledge and Skills: You will need to have knowledge and understanding of child and adolescent mental health difficulties, their assessment, and current evidence-based intervention strategies, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Personal Qualities: You will need to have a positive approach and resilient attitude to working with children, young people, and their families with mental health difficulties, and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
