Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Manager to enhance our Group Reporting team. This team is tasked with comprehensive Financial Reporting activities, including general ledger management, quarterly Group consolidation participation, supplementary disclosures, and the annual preparation of Reports and Accounts.

The primary focus of this position is on post-ledger activities, specifically overseeing the management, creation, and review of Financial Reporting for the Legal & General Reinsurance entities.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Directing and ensuring the timely delivery of Financial Reporting for our Reinsurance entities, with a strong emphasis on investment reporting across monthly, quarterly, and annual timelines. This involves coordinating Group disclosures through the OneStream consolidation platform and providing ongoing support to the business-as-usual (BAU) team regarding investments.
  • Understanding the complexities introduced by IFRS17 in the reporting framework to guarantee the precision of reporting disclosures.
  • Identifying and managing issues during the report production process while maintaining effective communication with essential stakeholders.
  • Developing expertise in system reporting tools such as GFAS, OneStream, and Clearwater.
  • Collaborating with the GL/SII Manager to effectively allocate resources to meet team objectives.
  • Working closely with the Financial Reporting team, Group External Reporting, Investment Management, and external auditors to ensure all requirements are understood and executed.
  • Mentoring less experienced team members to enhance their technical skills and procedural knowledge.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and external auditors.
  • Assisting in the integration of new Financial Reporting tools into the BAU processes.
Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • A recognized accounting qualification with a solid understanding of IFRS17 and IFRS9.
  • Significant experience in Group Financial Reporting processes.
  • Expertise in annual Reports & Accounts production under IFRS.
  • Knowledge of internal control procedures for compliance.
  • Experience in insurance and investment disclosure reporting.
  • Proven ability to manage workloads and coordinate complex processes under tight deadlines.
  • Experience in resolving accounting issues through collaboration.
  • Familiarity with complex reconciliation processes.
