Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Manager to become a vital part of our Group Reporting team. This department is tasked with comprehensive Financial Reporting activities, which encompass general ledger management, quarterly Group consolidation participation, supplementary disclosures, and the annual preparation of entity Reports and Accounts.

The primary focus of this position is to oversee post-ledger activities, particularly the management, creation, and evaluation of Financial Reporting for the Legal & General Reinsurance entities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and ensuring the timely delivery of Financial Reporting for the Legal & General Re entities, with a focus on investment reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. This includes coordinating Group disclosures using the OneStream consolidation tool and providing ongoing support to the business-as-usual (BAU) team regarding investments.
  • Understanding the complexities introduced by IFRS17 in the reporting framework to guarantee accurate reporting disclosures.
  • Identifying and resolving issues during the report production process while maintaining effective communication with essential stakeholders.
  • Enhancing system reporting capabilities across various platforms.
  • Collaborating with the GL/SII Manager to optimize resource allocation for achieving team objectives.
  • Working closely with the Financial Reporting team, Group External Reporting, Investment Management, and external auditors to ensure that all requirements are understood and executed.
  • Mentoring less experienced team members to improve their technical skills and knowledge.
  • Building and nurturing relationships with stakeholders and external auditors.
  • Assisting in the integration of new Financial Reporting tools into standard operations.
Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • A qualification from a recognized accounting body, with a solid understanding of IFRS17 Insurance Contracts and IFRS9 Financial Instruments.
  • Experience in Group Financial Reporting processes.
  • Familiarity with annual Reports & Accounts production under IFRS.
  • Knowledge of internal control procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Experience in insurance and investment disclosure reporting.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage complex processes under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in resolving process and accounting issues collaboratively.
  • Experience in navigating complex internal processes and systems.
  • Expertise in complex reconciliation processes.
