Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Actuarial Financial Control Manager to join our team at Legal & General. As a key member of our Financial Control team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective operation of our Financial Control Framework (FCF) across the annual reporting cycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Actuarial Control Expertise: Provide expert guidance and support to the Financial Control team and key stakeholders on Actuarial Financial Reporting areas, ensuring that risks and controls are appropriately identified and challenged.
  • FCF Requirements: Ensure the completion of FCF requirements, including walkthrough performance, design and operating effectiveness of actuarial processes, and risk and control risk lists.
  • Risk Assessment Validation: Validate and agree on deficiencies, and develop remediation plans to address these issues.
  • Model and EUC Review: Support the review of significant models and EUCs to provide assurance to the Group Model and Financial Control Committee.
  • BAU Deliverables: Oversee the delivery of BAU tasks, ensuring accuracy, attention to detail, and timely completion.
  • Team Management: Manage individual capability, review and sign-off key deliverables, and ensure the team works effectively and efficiently.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Nearly Qualified/Qualified Actuary (or equivalent demonstrable experience)
  • IFRS17 and Audit Experience: Demonstrable experience in IFRS17 and audit
  • Legal & General Group Knowledge: Broad understanding of the Legal & General Group and its products
  • Actuarial Processes: Strong understanding of actuarial processes for protection and retirement businesses
  • Financial Reporting Risk and Control Frameworks: Experience of financial reporting risk and control frameworks is preferable
  • Insurance and Asset Management: Strong conceptual and practical understanding of the risks and processes associated with insurance and asset management businesses
  • Communication Skills: Highly persuasive on technical matters through written and verbal communications
