Software Engineer - Financial Systems

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of innovative software solutions for pension administration calculations.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with existing developers to ensure new development seamlessly integrates with current functionality and adheres to best practices.
  • Work in tandem with product managers, business actuaries, and architects to produce high-quality, production-ready code that meets the needs of our clients.
  • Actively participate in peer code reviews, striving for continuous improvement of the codebase and system enhancements.
  • Analyze existing system processes to identify opportunities for software automation, ultimately reducing operational and model risk.
  • Take ownership of comprehensive test coverage, including system tests, and actively engage in business testing throughout the software development lifecycle.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in developing financial engineering systems using customized software solutions, particularly within the pensions and annuities sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and assist with analytics and cash flow modeling requirements gathering.
  • Strong proficiency in C# development, open-source libraries, C++, Java, VBA, Python, GUI design, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Expertise in software development for analytical and model risk scenarios.
  • A proactive approach to addressing technical and business challenges, delivering effective solutions.
  • A successful track record in software/database systems development, encompassing project life cycles and product installation.
  • Skills in estimation, self-management, and adherence to project timelines.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Delivery tools, source control, and issue management software.
  • Experience working within Windows and Linux development environments and utilizing relevant tools.
