We are seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Manager to enhance our Group Reporting team. This team is integral to the comprehensive Financial Reporting process, which encompasses general ledger management, quarterly Group consolidation, supplementary disclosures, and the annual preparation of entity Reports and Accounts.
The primary focus of this position is on post-ledger activities, specifically overseeing the management, preparation, and evaluation of Financial Reporting for the Legal & General Reinsurance entities.
The key responsibilities include:
- Leading the delivery of Financial Reporting for the Legal & General Re entities, with a strong emphasis on Investment reporting across monthly, quarterly, and annual timelines. This includes coordinating Group disclosures through the OneStream consolidation platform and providing ongoing support to the business-as-usual (BAU) team regarding investments.
- Understanding the complexities introduced by IFRS17 and ensuring accurate reporting disclosures.
- Identifying and resolving issues during the report production process while maintaining effective communication with stakeholders.
- Developing expertise in system reporting tools such as GFAS, OneStream, and Clearwater.
- Collaborating with the GL/SII Manager to effectively allocate resources to meet team objectives.
- Working alongside the Financial Reporting team, Group External Reporting, Investment Management, and external auditors to ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
- Mentoring less experienced team members to enhance their technical skills and knowledge.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and external auditors.
- Assisting in the integration of new Financial Reporting tools into regular operations.
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- A recognized accounting qualification with a solid understanding of IFRS17 Insurance Contracts and IFRS9 Financial Instruments.
- Experience in Group Financial Reporting processes.
- Knowledge of annual Reports & Accounts production under IFRS.
- Familiarity with internal control procedures to ensure compliance.
- Experience in insurance and investment disclosure reporting.
- Proven ability to manage workloads and coordinate activities to meet tight deadlines.
- Experience in resolving complex accounting issues collaboratively.
- Skills in navigating intricate internal processes and systems.
- Experience with complex reconciliation processes.
