Position Overview

This role is situated within the GroupM Central Finance Function, primarily supporting various operating units. The position oversees a team while collaborating closely with multiple stakeholders, including commercial leads, financial planning and analysis, and compliance teams.

Role Objectives

We are seeking an individual to fulfill the role of UK Risk and Controls Lead, which is a multifaceted position with diverse priorities and a broad range of stakeholders. The successful candidate will be part of the global Risk & Controls team, focusing on the UK region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor in the areas of risk management, internal controls, and compliance.
  • Drive ongoing enhancements in the control environment and promote accountability for internal controls at all organizational levels.
  • Foster a culture of compliance, ethics, and integrity throughout the organization.
  • Provide training on internal policies and best practices related to controls, supporting implementation efforts.
  • Leverage technology and innovation to optimize risk and control activities, enhancing compliance across the business.
  • Build and maintain relationships to identify risks, foresee issues, and propose effective solutions.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • ACA/CA/ACCA qualified with relevant post-qualification experience in ethics and compliance, risk management, or auditing.
  • Familiarity with international financial reporting standards and compliance requirements.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with a focus on driving change and fostering strong business partnerships.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Experience in the media and advertising sector is advantageous.
