**Job Summary**

The Supervisor, Logistics & Trade is responsible for supporting logistics and trade compliance personnel and requirements to ensure highly efficient and effective cargo movement for Global Operations including rig moves, marketing support, intermediaries and new country set ups.

**Principal Duties and Responsibilities**
- Supports global management of all Packing, Freight Forwarding (Ocean / Air Freight charters, out of gauge shipments, customs Import / Export activities, land transportations, Rig clearance or entrance.
- Support Global Logistics Director and Valaris international logistics.
- Manage and or Assist with new country start up.
- Assist with finance and legal on any tax issues resulting from Import/ Export regulations
- Actively works with supply chain teams and third-party logistics providers to ensure material required for rig operations is flowing true the system to archive rig delivery requirements
- Provide guidance and an escalations path for highly complex or critical transactions; demonstrates appropriate actions to ensure team members learning
- Research best practices for development global logistics & trade strategy incorporating global dynamic footprint
- Conduct freight forwarder and custom broker’s assessments in accordance with policies and procedures
- Provide guidance to develops and assigns goals, objectives and maintain accountability for direct reports
- Supports global classification programs to ensure compliance with all trade regulations and industry best practices.
- Support and manage where appropriate virtual inventory and pick and pack programs.
- Monitor Key performance indicators (KPI’s) and coach’s team to deliver continuous improvement in results. Focus on cost, service, delivery / custom clearance times (analysis, statistics)
- Monitor market trends and freight / shipping indices; ensure company benefits adjustments in market pricing
- Auditing the fields regarding the record keeping of Customs Import and Export documents and their compliance with local regulations.
- Submitting necessary reports to HMRC, Bill of Discharge for IPR and End Use.
- Maintaining AEO accreditation for UK
- Provide import clearance instructions when necessary
- Ensure compliance for Export License Applications and that company database is correctly maintained.
- Ensure compliance with all HSE policies and training regarding handling and transportations of hazardous goods.
- As assigned, support shipyard and SPS projects in region.
- As applicable, ensure vendor non-conformances are raised and followed through to closure.
- Perform on call duty to support after hours call out.
- Manage key vendor business relationships within assigned region and ensure overall value expected from vendors is delivered.

**Qualifications / Experience**
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Supply Chain and/or Logistics
- Minimum 1-year supervisory experience
- ISM certification as CPSM (Certified Profession in Supply Management) or APICS certification as CLTD (Certified in Logistic, Transportation and Distribution) preferred

**Skills & Experience**
- Ability to gather and analyze/synthesize data, confirming its accuracy and adequacy as an integral part of the collective analysis/synthesis process.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and fluency in English. Ability to communicate effectively across different levels of organization, departments as well as across different cultures.
- Solid understanding of the legal aspect of purchasing, including standard Purchase Order Terms and Conditions, Incoterms, and trade compliance requirements of suppliers for import and export transactions
- Demonstrated leadership and negotiation skills with ability to influence others and effectively lead and resolve contractual issues.
- Knowledge of drilling equipment for offshore drilling environment, including knowledge of key suppliers, industry specifications and standards
- PeopleSoft system purchasing experience preferred
- Ability to respond quickly and appropriately in a dynamic high charged work environment.
- Ability to charter and discuss the contracts for aircrafts or vessels.
- Ability to understand and interact with diverse groups and cultures.
- Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
- Knowledge of financial accounting, purchasing and management systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel at an advanced level (use financial and logical functions; work with multiple worksheets and workbooks; edit and use macros; import and export information).
- Working knowledge of document control systems and databases.
