Job Overview

The Logistics and Trade Compliance Coordinator plays a crucial role in overseeing the logistics and trade compliance operations to ensure seamless and effective cargo movement within Global Operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages the organization's import/export compliance initiatives, collaborating with the Logistics and Trade Compliance team to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
  • Provides support for urgent shipments, customs inquiries, and missing documentation to mitigate delays caused by time zone differences across global locations.
  • Coordinates and optimizes internal and external logistics resources to guarantee timely and precise delivery of materials while minimizing overall costs.
  • Oversees global import operations pertaining to various regions, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
  • Utilizes AI technologies to generate data sets necessary for RGR imports.
  • Actively seeks innovative methods to enhance efficiency and streamline logistics workflows.
  • Delivers responsive logistics solutions during emergency situations.
  • Implements best practices in vendor relationship management for logistics service providers.
  • Identifies inefficiencies and potential growth areas within the distribution network to improve service quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Works to reduce logistics expenses through freight rate analysis, consolidation opportunities, and process evaluations.
  • Ensures diligent tracking of export and import documentation to facilitate timely and cost-effective delivery to final destinations.
  • Manages essential documentation for imports and exports across various countries, liaising with freight forwarders and carriers.
  • Closely monitors customs and tax exemption issues, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Assists in special projects related to budgeting logistics expenses and clarifying operational procedures.
  • Acts as a liaison for various stakeholders, including forwarding agents, customs brokers, and shipping agents.
  • Conducts audits of freight forwarders and customs agents to ensure compliance with record-keeping regulations.
  • Ensures that customs regulations are followed by suppliers delivering equipment.
  • Provides support for equipment imported under Temporary Importation Status.
  • Collaborates with the Trade Compliance department to ensure alignment with customs and tax regulations.
  • Attends Operations meetings for strategic planning.
  • Monitors On Hand Reports weekly, aligning with OSD recovery and KPI metrics.
  • Expands knowledge and support for customs compliance within the EUM Region as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Significant logistics experience in the oil and gas sector or freight forwarding is essential.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

  • Willingness to travel as required for business needs.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to verify data accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Openness to integrating AI into daily operations.
  • Effective communication skills across various organizational levels and cultures.
  • Solid understanding of Incoterms and trade compliance for import/export transactions.
  • Knowledge of offshore drilling equipment and key suppliers is advantageous.
  • Ability to respond promptly in a dynamic work environment.
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial functions and macros.
  • Capability to manage multiple logistics projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Proficient in negotiating transport and handling rates.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills with the ability to influence and resolve issues effectively.
  • Flexible approach to assignments and ability to work under ambiguous guidelines.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
