A Logistics and Trade Compliance Specialist is required to administer logistics and trade compliance functions and their requirements to ensure efficient and effective cargo movement.

The role involves administering the company's import/export compliance program, working with the Logistics and Trade Compliance Group to ensure controls comply with the company's legal and regulatory obligations, and providing assistance with emergency shipments, customs questions, and missing supplier documents to avoid delays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing logistics and trade compliance functions to ensure compliance with regulations and laws.
  • Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Monitoring import operations and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Using AI to produce data sets required to satisfy RGR imports from UKCS.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to improve logistics processes and reduce costs.
  • Providing responsive logistics services for emergency situations.
  • Managing vendor relationships for logistics providers.
  • Identifying inefficiencies and areas of growth within the current distribution network to improve service levels and costs.
  • Managing and reducing logistics costs via freight rate benchmarks and assisting with annual freight rate negotiations.
  • Maintaining daily follow-up of export and import files to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Controlling documents necessary for importation and exportation in various countries, interfacing with Freight Forwarders/carriers.
  • Keeping a close follow-up on customs and tax exemption issues (UKCS import/export charges, international imports, VAT exemption, etc.).
  • Assisting with special projects regarding budgeting logistic costs and clarifying procedures.
  • Interfacing with forwarding agents, shipping agents, customs brokers, packers, carriers, and area offices.
  • Auditing Freight Forwarders/customs agents regarding compliance with local regulations.
  • Ensuring compliance with customs rules and regulations by each supplier delivering equipment to Freight Forwarders.
  • Providing assistance for all equipment imported under temporary importation status.
  • Coordinating with the Trade Compliance Department to ensure compliance with customs and tax regulations.
  • Attending operations meetings for planning purposes.
  • Weekly monitoring and execution of on-hand reports with aligned OSD recovery and KPI measurements.
  • Attending monthly governance meetings with Freight Forwarders.
  • Expanding knowledge of customs, compliance, and agent's aid as required.

Requirements:

  • Ability to gather and analyse data, confirming its accuracy and adequacy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to adapt to using AI as part of daily work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across different levels of the organization and cultures.
  • Solid understanding of Incoterms and trade compliance requirements for import and export transactions.
  • Preferred knowledge of drilling equipment for the offshore drilling environment.
  • Ability to respond quickly and appropriately in a dynamic work environment.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple logistics projects and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills with the ability to influence and resolve issues effectively.
