**Job description**:
This position sits within the Finance, Procurement & Civilian Personnel (FPCP) business area within DBS; FPCP provides a wide range of HR expert and operational delivery services, including Pay, Recruitment, Working Patterns & Leave and Leaving services across MOD and its arm’s length bodies.
As the Pay Absence Team Leader, you will need to demonstrate effective communication skills including those associated with staff engagement. You will be innovative, with confidence to challenge, organised with the ability to multitask and prioritise workloads.
You will have a background in fast paced Operational Delivery within a mid or large complex organisation to deliver a first-class service, understanding the challenges and associated risks, and clearly demonstrating effective techniques for overcoming them.
The position is advertised at 37 hours per week with management responsibilities for 9 staff.
**Responsibilities**
Service Delivery
- Lead and motivate your team, particularly through times of significant transformational change, maintaining delivery standards in the provision of an efficient, timely and accurate service for civilian staff and military line managers in line with Service Level Agreements.
- Ensure adherence to relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), exceeding where possible.
- Ensure sufficient capacity, capability, engagement and productivity so that the team delivers a responsive, professional and highly valued service
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities that will enhance the service and benefit customers.
**Customer & Stakeholder Management**
- Manage relationships between DBS and MOD business areas to balance competing stakeholder needs with the ability to engage at all levels

**As part of the role you will be required to travel to other MOD locations across the UK and overnight stays will be required.**
