**Job description**:
DBS is facing significant change in the coming months and years, which will impact the way it does its business and the services it provides.
Cost modelling is vital to ensuring that we offer value for money to our Defence customers.
The purpose of this role is to continue work to develop and maintain a fully populated DBS Cost Model, to enable:
Comparisons to be drawn between DBS and other Government Shared Service Providers and externally.
Improved service line/end-to-end process outcomes and efficiency savings to be delivered through data driven insights, taking time, cost, complexity, and demand volume into account.
A baseline of costed services/end-to-end service outcomes to support the work of Global Process Owners and new Business Operation Transitions into DBS.
This role supports the delivery of Corporate Services Modernisation (CSM) for Defence, in accordance with the Shared Service Strategy for Government, GSSS.
Post specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Agreeing the scope of the DBS Cost Model - what we want to measure, how we want to measure it, and our delivery approach.
Building and populating the DBS Cost Model in line with the agreed delivery approach, capturing a baseline of costed DBS services/end-to-end service outcomes; understand the ‘cost to serve’.
Agreeing ownership and governance to ensure the DBS Cost Model can be maintained going forward.
Supporting the work of Global Process Owners and new Business Operation Transitions into DBS by providing insights to support changes to delivered services, and accurate as-is and to-be service line costs for charging.
Working collaboratively with the Finance Director and their Team (DBS D Resources) and the Programme Delivery Service Development and Transition Team to ensure their needs are effectively managed.
Researching different Shared Services pricing and charging approaches, considering how they can be used to influence good customer behaviour, drive greater efficiency, and ensure DBS is able to be competitive and of value now and in the future.
